Matters that influence costs
The amount that you will be charged is directly
linked to the amount of my time involved in undertaking work for
you. The longer it takes, the more it costs. It is
therefore important to be as efficient as possible in instructing
me as to your requirements.
Written Instructions
One of the main ways of saving costs is for you to
provide me with written details of the information and instructions
that I need.
The decisions that you make
An issue may arise in the preparation of your Will
which is capable of being dealt with in several ways.
Some options may be straightforward; some options may be more
complicated and as a result are more expensive to implement.
There may be some very good reasons why the complicated option
should be taken. You need to be aware of and weigh the
costs and benefits of any particular decision that you make.
Other Matters
People's circumstances differ substantially,
however, here are some of matters that will influence the costs
associated with preparing your Will:
- the complexity of family relationships;
- the complexity of your financial circumstances;
- how effectively you can brief me with the relevant
information;
- how familiar you are with the law relating to your Will and
associated matters;
- how knowledgeable you are in relation to your financial
circumstances;
- how much explanation and advice you require from me;
- the decisions that you make;
- how many drafts of your Will you request from me;
- whether or not it is necessary to prepare associated
documents;
- how much time is spent in conferences;
- the number of times it is necessary to make amendments or
changes;
- the number and complexity of associated documents that I need
to review.
